OZ POWER BALL (AUSTRALIA)
Australian OZ Power Ball is similar to the American Power Ball lottery – numbers are drawn from two barrels – one barrel picks the numbers mainly from 1 to 45, while the other one picks out of 45 one number ‘Power Ball’. The difference between the lotteries is that in the American Power Ball it is enough to select the ‘Power Ball’ to win the basic prize, while in the Australian OZ Power Ball you need to select 3 numbers from the main set and the next division of the win means scoring two numbers selected from the basic set and the Power Ball.
OZ Power Ball lottery is known in New South Wales and South Australia as Power 45, in Queensland and Tatt’s states as Power Hit and in West Australia as Power Pik.
Power Ball’s largest jackpot prize to date is $80 million, which was shared between two tickets (in Victoria and New South Wales) on 30 July 2009 entered by players who correctly selected all the numbers and the OZ Power Ball.
